UPDATE (4):   February 22, 2004

Well, couldn't leave ole' Smeagol alone!  Here's what happened in the correct order:

1)  Airbrushed thinned FW's Sepia ink in the various creases, under the eyes and random patches all over the body.

2) Added more detailed veining in 2 shades (Bluish/Green and Reddish/Brown) all over the kit.

3) Misted a mixture of the base color and red oxide on the ear lobes, nose, forehead, under the eyes and over the whip marks (poor smeagol!)

4) Mixed a dark "bruised" red (Burgundy+Cerulean Blue+Burnt Umber and a touch of Paynes Gray) and sprayed the torn parts of the ears and over the whip marks in more detail.  This mixture was also used to darken the area around the eyes and lips.

5) Finally, using the above mixture and adding Red Oxide, thinned the paint further and detailed the tiny capillary veins.

UPDATE (5):   February 22, 2004 (PM)

This baby is starting to come along nicely!!  So far I'm happy with the skin tones....CAN'T LOOK BACK NOW!  Here's what I;ve done so far:

1)  Mixed a batch of a light tanned skin tone, thinned to an almost transparent consistency. The colors used for this mix were Titanium White with a few drops of Raw Sienna/Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber and a touch of Paynes Gray.  This was airbrushed in a smooth flowing motion from a few inches away, making sure that it did not cancel out the previous work.

2)  Took the above mix and added extra drops of Burnt Umber and Paynes Gray, also added a drop or two of Olive Green.  Thinned again to an almost transparent consistency and sprayed in a similar pattern as step (1).

3)  Again, using the first mix (1), added more drops of Raw Sienna and Burnt Sienna. Thinned it some more and very lightly misted the kit with it.

4) Used Createx's Transparent Gray, thinned generously with Alcohol, and carefully brushed over the creases, eyes and random splotches of the skin.

5)  SEAL, SEAL , SEAL!!!!!!!!! Two coats of Dullcote...Heck, make it three!! ;)

6) Took a looooooooooooong smoke break and finished this update! :)
